WELCOME, SOPHOMORES!

ON YOUR WAY

You’ve made it through freshman year, and now you’re ready for even bigger challenges. As a sophomore, you’ll take your first crack at the PSAT, which can earn you college scholarship money if you do well. You’ll also want to take at least two more Regents. And this is the year to:

Dream big.

Go to a college fair, a quiz to match possible careers with your interests, and start coming up with a list of colleges that you would love to attend. Check with your school about participating in a job-shadowing program.

Get involved.

Sign up for extracurricular activities related to your interests, making yourself more marketable to colleges and having some fun in the process!

Get ready.

Use the experience of taking the PSAT to prepare yourself for the SAT junior year. Make vocabulary flashcards and start drilling yourself on math concepts. Visit The College Board’s Web site for practice questions and tests.
